Privacy policy

This policy covers the CrunchWiser SEO Certification platform (this site). It runs separately from the CrunchWiser.com blog: it has its own database and accounts, and it does not read or share data with the blog.

What we collect

  • Identity: your name, the name to print on certificates, and your email address.
  • Account: a password hash (never the password itself), your time zone, and your privacy and notification preferences.
  • Assessments: the questions you were shown, your answers, timings, scores and topic results.
  • Security: a one-way hash of your IP address for abuse prevention, session data, and rate-limit counters.

We do not collect payment details, phone numbers, addresses, or demographic data.

How we use it

  • To run assessments, score them, show results and learning recommendations.
  • To issue certificates and operate public verification pages.
  • To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, results, certificate notices). We do not send marketing email from this platform.
  • To improve questions using aggregate, anonymised statistics such as how often a question is answered correctly.

What is public

A certificate's verification page shows the credential ID, title, level and dates. It shows your name only if you consent, and your score only if you opt in. Your email address, answers and internal identifiers are never shown. You can change these choices in your account at any time.

Retention and deletion

You can request deletion from your account. After a 14-day grace period we remove your name and email, revoke your certificates (verification pages then show them as revoked), and keep anonymised attempt records needed for question-quality statistics and audit integrity. Unstarted attempts expire automatically. Backups are rotated and overwritten on a schedule.

Processors

Email is delivered through our SMTP provider. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Hosting is provided by our web host. Each processes only what is needed for its service.

You can access and correct your data in your account, request deletion, and contact us about any privacy question at contact@crunchwiser.com.
